If you are selling high tech and info products (short for informational products), YouTube is the place you need to be advertising. Hundreds of thousands of dollars is being spent on ads each month as people buy media on YouTube. A lot of this money is being spent selling info products and people are having a crazy amount of success!
Why advertise on YouTube?
There are several reasons why YouTube ads and info products work really well:
- Education
- Lower Competition
- Congruency
Education
YouTube is a platform where people are often looking for education. For a lot of clients, the advertising targets are videos that are on channels that are already teaching them about that topic. For example, if a client is selling an eCommerce offer, such as “How to build an eCommerce business”, then it is easy to produce great results because there are hundreds of videos on YouTube about e-Business, and we can advertise on videos on that subject.
Education is easier to continue as the consumer is already in a mindset where they’re being educated. You can target people while they’re watching videos about your niche and they’re already on a path to learning about your topic. And also, they are learning about whatever it is you’re selling.
Lower Competition
People are yet to catch on to YouTube advertising because they are afraid of the unknown and don’t want to be the test subjects. This is why you are being taught.
First-Mover Advantage
As of right now, YouTube advertising is undervalued. A lot of people are spending a huge amount of money and time on Facebook ads, but they haven’t started doing YouTube ads yet. They haven’t figured it out and they’re slow to move. There’s a huge first-mover advantage if you focus on creating advertisements for YouTube, you can get really great results and your account will have a lot of history.
History equals results
Just like Facebook with its pixel, Google has an adverts algorithm that optimizes for conversions.
What we’ve seen is older-aged accounts produce better results. New accounts see less success. It is really important to put more effort into YouTube ads before the competition does. This way you are ahead of them and will be able to maintain low CPL’s and still have a low cost per acquisition when YouTube ads become more popular.
YouTube is overlooked
Everybody is buying ads on Facebook, but they’re overlooking YouTube right now. There are two reasons to support this. Education and lower competition, and lower CPM’s.
Congruency
If you are targeting customers on a channel in which they are already watching a video and you are taking them to another video, it’s much less of a break from their norm. This congruency allows people to feel comfortable, and is one of the reasons why people theorize that YouTube leads are often more qualified and have the highest customer lifetime values.
Power of continuation
If you are targeting customers on a channel in which they are already watching a video and you are taking them to another video, it’s much less of a break from their norm. This congruency allows people to feel comfortable, and is one of the reasons why people theorize that YouTube leads are often more qualified and have the highest customer lifetime values.
Keeping the customer on a video is very powerful, because oftentimes when you’re scrolling on Facebook, you don’t want to watch a webinar because that is not something that you had prepared yourself to do. But if you’re already watching a video on YouTube, it is much easier to transition to watching a different video.
Taking people from a video platform to perhaps a video series or video course or video webinar if you’re like most information sellers, is an important congruent factor. According to information, sellers usually sell their courses, especially high-ticket sellers, alongside a video course. A lot of the time people are being directed to a webinar or a video series, and a lot of information is being sold via this method.
The target audience are already in the mind-frame that they are watching a video and being educated. By providing a continuation and leading them to another educational video you are allowing the congruent factor to continue.
